If this goalless draw will be remembered, it will be remembered for the goal-den chances that were spurned.

For Watford a Troy Deeney penalty saved by Spurs custodian Paulo Gazzaniga and for Spurs, a scrambled effort from Erik Lamela that was cleared off the line (see above).

A fair result probably though in truth, Spurs probably deserved nothing from yet another tepid away performance. Muted in attack and defence, Jose Mourinho’s team had little to offer.

Surely, in Harry Kane’s absence, a proven striker is absolutely essential if Spurs are to get back into the top 4. At the moment it’s not looking likely.

Jose Mourinho’s first home match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and all Spurs fans are hoping more of the same after the encouraging win over the weekend.

I suspect Mourinho would want to keep the momentum of that first win going and chances are he is not going to mess around too much with the team lineup but also bearing in mind the fact that Jan Vertonghen and Tanguy Ndombele will be fit.

I fully expect Spurs to get all three points and qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Possible line-up: Gazzaniga, Foyth, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Ndombele, Alli, Moura, Son, Kane.

COME ON YOU SPURS!!!
